All kinds of stuff was piling upon my desk, in the
kitchenin fact, in every room in the house. then I
discovered the gift of . . . the timer!
Now my saying is: Set it and forget it! (Where have
I heard that before?)
It in fact seemed too easy a solution to solve what
had become an overwhelming problem: how to fit
all the put-on I have to do, infatuation to do, must do, and
wish to pull off into one twenty-four hour get older and nevertheless
have any period left to realize all halfway resembling
"fun." (What's that, anyway?)
But the fact of the situation is that it IS just that SIMPLE!
First, I acquire every of the routine out of the way: shower,
exercise, grooming, prayer or meditation, breakfast, etc.
Finally at the computer, I set the timerusually for half
an hour. as soon as it "dings" I acquire in the works and most likely transfer
some laundry to the dryer. (I'm one of those rare and
lucky women who is married to an exceptional man
who usually at least starts the laundry, and upon a daily
basis, thus we never have laundry piled up.)
Just a tiny "mini" fracture from the computer, but it does
several things: (1) It allows me to tend to the little
mundane tasks that otherwise acquire put off. (2) It truly is
the "pause that refreshes," as pretense fittingly prevents me from
developing carpal tunnel or that wretched hurt surrounded by
the shoulders that correspondingly many women wrestle from. (3) It
gets the blood circulating in my legs and prevents the
varicose veins or phlebitis that sometimes produce in
those who sit a lot. (4) It helps rev occurring my metabolism,
just distressing concerning a bit.
Another benefit of the mini-break is that it seems to
help certain my thinking and keeps me from getting
bogged by the side of or developing writer's block. And it helps
me to stay focussed (believe it or not), as my mind isn't
as prone to saunter as in the manner of I'm "at it" for hours on end.
And I don't acquire "burnt out" on any one thing this way.
I set the timer for various chunks of era throughout the
daythat's the beauty of itit is thus flexible, and it gives
you that awesome feeling of mammal in run at every times.
If you plot your work, you can ham it up your plot a collective lot
easier using a timer. You actually have a roadmap after that
for the combine day, and the tiny "dings" are the mile
markers. You get a genuine feeling of accomplishment,
because you ARE, in fact, actually accomplishing things.
Try ityou'll love it!
